RIVAL 0
WHO HOLDS POWER? · ARCADE BREAK

Fast hands. Sharp angles.

Beat the computer at air hockey. Drag anywhere in your lower half to move your cyan mallet. Hit the puck into the rival’s top goal and protect your bottom goal.

First to 3 goals wins a round. After 45 seconds, the higher score wins; a tie goes to sudden death. Win two rounds to take the match.

Between rounds, take a quick “Who holds this power?” moment, then get straight back to the table.

Keyboard: arrow keys or WASD move your mallet. Space pauses. Touch and mouse both work. Shots gain speed from your mallet movement.

Hit. Defend. Rebound.

Drag in your lower half. You can start your touch away from the mallet so your finger does not hide it. Keep near the bottom goal to defend, then push forward as the puck arrives. Hit off-centre to send it at an angle; use the side rails for bank shots.

Use arrows or WASD on a keyboard. Space pauses/resumes. Your mallet stays in your half. Pause and these instructions freeze the puck and clock.

Who holds power in Aotearoa?

Parliament makes laws and checks Government. The Executive develops policy and runs public services. Courts interpret and apply law independently.

Ministers are also MPs, so Parliament and Government overlap. Government must retain the confidence of the House. Courts can review executive decisions; they do not simply veto every Act.

The table names connect to the learning. Hockey scores represent sporting points.
