Maths: Slides, flips and quarter/half turns
Year 3 online: this lesson follows the same learning sequence as the Year 3 workbook while keeping the online maths progression manageable for seven-year-old learners. Type and draw on screen, or use an exercise book whenever longer writing or maths working is easier on paper.
Word Work
Say each word, listen carefully, then type it.
Trace or write the words.
Read & Talk
Read the passage first. Use Listen after you have tried it yourself.
The data detectives notice that several words carry number clues. Uni- can mean one, bi- can mean two and tri- can mean three. Knowing these meaningful word parts helps them predict unfamiliar vocabulary. A tricycle, for example, has three wheels, while a bicycle has two.
Make & Write
Write on screen or use your exercise book.
Write three sentences using words with uni-, bi- or tri-. Explain the prefix meaning in each.
Maths Mission
Solve each problem. Show your working when it helps.
