Iconic Games exists because of a simple observation: the moments people learn best are the moments that feel like play. Not the compulsory stuff. The game you could not put down. The activity your whānau still talks about. Learning that pulls you forward instead of pushing you through.
We are a Māori-owned company building gamified educational technology from Aotearoa, for whānau, learners, schools, kura, and lifelong learners everywhere. Everything we make sits under three words: Play, Learn, Grow.
Play — what exists today
Mīharo: Escape the Arcade is our flagship digital game — a two-player co-op browser adventure rooted in Te Ao Māori, where teamwork and kōrero are the mechanics, not decorations. The Iconic Games Box — 90s Edition was its screen-free sibling: a one-time drop of 30 nostalgic games boxes made for whānau laughter and old-school fun — now sold out.
Learn — where it is heading
The Digital Library is our growing collection of printable learning activities inspired by Aotearoa, Te Ao Māori, creativity, and play — made for kitchen tables and classrooms alike. Alongside it, Mīharo Kura is our curriculum-aligned direction for schools and kura, part of the wider Mīharo Universe and still in development, built on the same rule as everything else: the mechanic carries the learning.
Grow — the long game
The learner is at the centre of everything we are building next. Future learner-owned experiences are in development — we will share more when they are ready. And one day, further down the road, there is a dream of a physical Iconic Games Hub in the King Country: a place where games, learning, whānau connection, and local opportunity meet. That one is a vision, not a promise — but it points the waka.
One company. One idea. The game itself does the teaching.
Thanks for reading, and for being early. If you have played Mīharo, grabbed a box, or downloaded a resource — you are part of how this gets built.
