How Iconic Games Limited collects, uses and protects information on this website.
Last updated: 1 September 2026
1. Who we are
Iconic Games Limited operates iconicgames.co.nz. This policy applies to this website and the information we collect through it. Separate products or websites may provide their own privacy information where their data handling is different.
2. Information we may collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Contact information you provide when you send us an enquiry, such as your name, email address and message.
- Digital Library access information, such as your email address, optional first name, access status and whether you chose to receive marketing updates.
- Feedback you choose to provide about a game, resource or the website, plus an email address only if you provide one.
- Basic website usage information, such as pages viewed, device/browser information and general traffic data where analytics are enabled.
Please do not send us learner names, passwords, payment information, health information or other sensitive personal information through general contact or feedback fields.
3. How we use information
We use information only for reasonable business purposes connected with Iconic Games, including:
- responding to enquiries and support requests;
- providing and remembering Digital Library access;
- sending resource announcements or Iconic Games updates when you have actively chosen to receive them;
- understanding whether resources and pages are useful;
- improving games, learning resources and website experience;
- protecting the site from misuse and meeting legal obligations.
4. Digital Library access and email
The Digital Library may use an access link or browser token so returning visitors do not need to enter their email every time. Where an access token is used, it is intended to represent access status rather than place your email address directly in the browser token.
Marketing consent is separate from access to free resources. If you choose to receive updates, you can unsubscribe using the link in those emails or by contacting us.
5. Services we use
We use service providers to operate parts of the website. These may include Netlify for hosting, forms and server-side website functions, Resend for transactional or opted-in email, and website analytics tools for aggregate usage measurement. These providers process information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms and privacy practices.
Mīharo gameplay and purchase flows are provided through playmiharo.co.nz. Check the privacy information shown there for data collected through that service.
6. Cookies and local browser storage
We may use cookies or local browser storage for essential site functions such as remembering Digital Library access and basic preferences. Analytics tools may also use browser technologies to measure site use. You can control many of these through your browser settings, although disabling essential storage may affect some features.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, to provide support, maintain necessary business records, resolve issues or meet legal requirements. We may retain de-identified or aggregate information that no longer identifies you.
8. Sharing and sale of personal information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the website, or where disclosure is required or permitted by New Zealand law.
9. Your privacy rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you can ask to access personal information we hold about you and request correction if it is wrong. You can also contact us with a privacy concern.
10. Children and learner information
Our games and learning resources may be used by young people, but this corporate website is not designed to collect detailed personal profiles from children. Adults, kaiako and learners should avoid placing identifying learner information in general forms or feedback.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or services change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
