LEARN & PRACTISE

Word explorer

Read each word. Look for parts you know. Type each word to practise its spelling.

READ & UNDERSTAND

Reading detective

At the inventors showcase, each team explains a problem and displays a model solution. Aroha's group builds a cardboard desk organiser. Visitors say it tips when full. Instead of giving up, the team makes the base wider and tests it again. Their final poster explains both the first design and the improvements.

What is the most useful response to feedback?

WRITE & IMPROVE

Writing studio

Describe a problem, a design and one improvement using a clear reason.

Plan one idea, explain it and check that your sentences make sense. You can edit your writing.

TRY THE EXAMPLE FIRST

Maths mission

A rectangle 8 cm long and 5 cm wide has perimeter 8 + 5 + 8 + 5 = 26 cm.

APPLY YOUR LEARNING

Real-world mission

Sketch a cardboard prototype and label the measurements. Test your design safely with an adult.

You can also draw or make the activity away from the screen. Record what you did or what you would make.

SKILL GAME · TAKE YOUR TIME

Challenge gate

Use what you learnt to unlock the gate. There's no timer. Mistakes help you find what to try again.

What makes a prototype useful?
